Last month I finally pulled the trigger on the apadravya which was my first piercing. The pain wasn't as bad as I expected and I have already switched to a better fitting bar. My question is about how long should I wait until I can start stretching? I am planning on taking it to a 10 and want to start as soon as possible but I don't want to start too early and screw it up. I know healing times are different for each person, just wanted to know how long people with the piercing waited to do theirs.

What were you pierced with? I would have just pierced it with a 10 from the start

IMO you'll want to wait till the piercing is FULLY healed, so say 6 to 8 months. I waited just over a year before making any changes w/mine.

I was done with a 14 since it was my first I wasn't sure if I was going to want to stretch up or not. Having it only a month made me wish I go with the 10 :hs:

I won't even pierce apa/ampalangs under 10g.... I'll do 12g if the customer is persistent but would never do it at 14g.

The guy I went to has always had people wanting it done with a 14 so he suggested doing that. I have no real problem waiting the time it will take to heal. And atleast next time I get pierced anywhere else I know I will want to go with a bigger size unless it is my face.

I've always heard 10 or bigger. 12 is pushing it, 14 and smaller and you're at a higher risk to cheese slice it, ripping the piercing out. The larger the gauge and the more surface area the bar has to hold it.

Jesus, I STARTED at 8 and was in a hurry to get it down to 4. Can't image the cheese slice effect at 14.

I have used it and have not had a single problem or the "cheese slice" thing that the other guy was saying.

I wouldn't want any genital piercing at anything less than 12. Just too much chance of it pulling out.
