My comp just froze and gave me a bsod a couple of days ago and whenever I try to log into the account I was using at the time I get the a message about how the user account is corrupt and to contact the system administrator. I got the important files out of the user directory directly so its not super important I fix it (I could live without it), but I'd like to be able to restore it so I could keep all my various settings without having to do them all in a new account (that was my main account). Anyone know if its possible to fix it or am I screwed (relatively speaking)?

if ur talking about u losing the pw to the account, u basically restart your computer into safe mode, and it doesn't ask for the pw in the account for some reason, or it's just empty

    it works for me :dunno:

Its not the password, it says the user account is corrupt when I try to log into it, and then it makes a temporary version of a basic account that I can use but it'll lose the changes when I log back out.

already removed the pword for that account, didn't help any (didn't really think that it would). I've had the comp crash before and never gotten any message like this, not even sure where to start :sad2:

I had this problem when some memory went corrupt - a couple of reboots usually got me back in fine

Can't get a screenshot, but here's the exact message...

"Windows cannot load your profile because it may be corrupted. Contact your administrator."
