If you have a Firewire drive, you can mount it on that and then boot from it.

you can install it from an external hard drive, USB or FW.

    (1) mount the SL disk image / iso you have.
    (2) open disk utility
    (3) format the external HD ( or a new partition on it) as Mac OS Extended Journaled
    (4) click the Restore Tab. Source = the SL img, Destination = the USB Drive.
    (5) reboot, holding the OPTION key, then boot from the USB drive partition you made.

install. worked for me on 3 machines now.

You can always image it to a USB drive and run it from that.

for some reason it wouldn't boot from my external DRIVE, but when i imaged an 8GB thumb drive (in the same manner) it worked without any issue :dunno:
