    I did legs on Monday and here it is Wednesday and walking around like I have a corncob up my ass. It wasn't bad yesterday but it hits me a day or two later. I stretch before I lift. Is it a good thing?

    Yes always stretch before you lift. DOing cardio the day after (light to moderate cardio nothing crazy) will help with the soreness from my experience.

    :rolleyes: You don't have to obliterate a muscle in order to incur a growth stimulus. Recovery is just as important as training.

    1/2 volume(dayt 1) + 1/2 volume(day2) = 1

    volume != heavy

    heavy = big weight

    volume = lots of sets/reps

    Stretching before lifting does nothing. Better to do a few warmup sets.

    Stretch AFTER workout

    I don't shoot for more than 5 to 10 reps with at most 5 sets.

    This man speaks the truth except for one thing, stretching before lifting does do one thing, it tears precious muscle fibers that could be helping you lift more weight during the exercise. Always stretch after, do warmup sets before.

    This is true, you would be better to do some light sets to get the blood flowing to the muscle.

    eat a shit load of food and sleep for 15 hours.

    and like ceaze said stretching doesn't get rid of soreness, it might feel better but its not really doing anything...try to do a little light excercise the next day to get blood flowing around them legs.

    My squats tend to suffer on the very rare occasion I do leg press first. :dunno:

    I had to split my leg day in the beginning to avoid major soreness. Once I got into the groove I could put legs back to one day
