No matter what you say or what evidence you bring forward, they are still going to argue with you and tell you that you are wrong. If you support gay marriage you are wrong (according to them). I've learned to just ignore these threads. They stress me out.
in for later - work calls =(
after reading just a little bit though...
I am not interested in reading 10 pages of bigotry and ignorance etc., in the thread, but if you give me some ideas of what type of support you need, let me know.
For the record I am student clergy at the Metropolitan Community Church, the same location in Toronto that led the rights for same-sex marriage in Canada and was responsible for the changing of the law in Canada. The Minister who led that fight and performed the first marriage, is my colleague.
When it comes to history of same-sex marriage in Canada, there is no better authority than this man, and the staff or our church.
Let me know what type of information you would like and, time permitting,I would be happy to provide it.
Thank you MapleLeaf. I'm glad to have you here with us.
Man, I just can't do it this time...
Just remember, for each idiot you are arguing with, there are ten or twenty or more people READING the thread that you are reaching...
We know this from all the PMs we get thanking us for our words and our replies.
I know. It just seems like the more I do this, the more energy I run out of quicker. My tolerance level for ignorance just drops lower and lower each time.
>.< I don't know if i helped, but those are my thoughts on that issue
