    We now see 2% of the original image.

    cropping much more closely, we clearly see Fr. Serra himself as he rides toward the mission on a donkey. Note the carved relief showing each adobe brick in the wall behind him. These bricks are about 1/4" high in the plaster work and were photographed using the Gigapxl camera at a distance of 100 yards.

    OK... but they're using large format cameras with an 18x9" negative and then scanning the neg at ultra high resolution.

    Little bit impractical for the amateur, but interesting :p
