I have the SB-600 that I have been playing around with the commander mode with my D70. Have gotten some really good results but its not the best setup.

My next thing to do is buy the Gadget Infintry Flash trigger and another SB-600 or 800.

I use it right now with my SB-600 mounted on an umbrella/stand setup with my D70s and it's been great. Even better now that I picked up an 8-pack of Eneloops. I'm also looking to get an SB-800 as my next flash. :wiggle:

Can I charge the Eneloops with a charger that I already have or do I have to buy the Eneloop charger?

I use it on 90% of my flash photography.

    oh, ok.

Yeah, I use it a lot. I LOVE it. Setting strobe power from the camera FTW!

It's also fun to use the on camera flash set at 1/64th or so for catchlights or a mild fill...

You can use any charger, but the more you trickle charge, the longer they're gonna last you. They're not exactly cheap. :o

Not sure if there's still a deal, but you should go to your local Circuit City and check if they have the 8-pack for $9-10.

Sometimes I forget my 600 has batteries. They last that long.

I have 4 SB-600s. I may add either an SB-800 or SU-800 in the future, just so I can control 3 groups instead of just 2 with the built-in on the D200.

I was messing with my D70s on commander mode but I kept getting frustrated cause my SB-800 wasn't firing all the time. I got the gadget infinity triggers last week...I'm yet to shoot with them outside (prob. later today) but they seem to be working great. I also got them cause I'm shooting a lot of film this semester and I wanted to use my flash off the hot shoe for that too. This is what I was getting with my flash on commander mode:

I was pretty happy with it but it took a few tries cause it wasn't going off everytime (I printed it at 13X19 for one of my final projects)

Commander mode owns..I also use it a lot. You have to watch out to keep the sensor in line of sight..fun fact, for the longest time I thought the sensor was the focus aid (you know the red hting in the front) when its actually the small circle to the side of the flash, hope that helps.
