I don't think it's worth the added weight on the knees

my primary running workouts are with my weighted vest. let me tell you, they are the best. Ever since i got it, i see a lot of PROS. My speed has defintiely increased when i run without it. i also do jump rope workouts with my weighted vest. it has definitely helped my calves. the weighted vest i use costs about $150, the one you are looking at doesn't seem bad, but i don't know why the price difference is so high. i say give it a shot!

cliffs: working out with weighted vest rocks!

I have thought about getting one, but just cannot justify spending the money yet.

I used to train with a 30lb vest in football and it worked wonderfully.

In the army I use my body armor on runs sometimes, if Im really feeling it I put the plates in which is about 30 extra lbs and no plates is aout 10, I have to say for me as a young man running with the extra weight really in nice for working on performance times, however Im told by alot of my senior ranking NCOs and officers that itll bite me in the ass if I keep doing it and will fuck up my knees, however unless youre trying to bring down your run time I dont see that much of an advantage to running with one.

that was my rational. more of a speed thing than a workout thing.

It is recommended for spring workouts and hill routines. Running long distance with it on will unnecessarily put wear and tear on your knees.

Yeah, working out with it won't help and going on long runs with it will put wear on your body.

I saw great results with it by using it for jump-rope, sprints, hill runs, and box jumping exercises. After training with the vest for ~ 1.5 months in pre-season I was faster, more explosive, and could jump higher when the vest was off.

I suppose I should just buy one, but I am broke and I don't feel like dropping $50 on it.
But for those of you who do have the cash, I recommend it.

oh yea it definitely is more a speed thing. i wouldn't try to use it to gain some serious muscle.

I hate squats more than anything else in the world. I'm thinking about running with this. I hate long runs anyway since they're boring as shit, so I'd probably just use it for sprints and the like. I don't give a shit about serious muscle, I just like to be fit.
