Thinking of picking a Forerunner 205 or 305 up. Just curious if anyone has one and if they like it.

I've had a 205 for about a year and a half and love it. It's great when you're running to know your actual distance and how fast you're going.

There's some good aftermarket software out there plus this:

I picked up a 305 off of craigslist for $100 a while back, best running related purchase i've bought besides shoes. If you do end up with one, check out the software http://www.zonefivesoftware.com/SportTracks/

Its comfortable, easy to use, and not *that* big (compared to the 201). Takes a few seconds for it to pick up an initial signal, but no complaints besides that.

edit: I use it for both running and cycling; very accurate and consistent for both

Thanks for the input. Is there any reason to get the 305 if I do not care about the heart monitor?

The 205 is the size of a hockey puck.

It's hard to tell from the pics I've seen. No one locally carries them. I am tempted to go ahead and order one though. :hs:

I used one for a few years when I would jog outside, and I loved it. I could take different trails and still know how many miles I've ran, pace, time, etc.

I can't think of a single complaint that I had about it.

I found one oneline for ~148 w/free shipping yesterday. Went back to the site a few minutes ago and they aren't even listed on the site.

Anyone kow of a good deal on one or maybe an online coupon for a store that sells them? :x:

Nah, not that big. Close though... ;)

It's only about 1.5" square but it's about a half inch thick.
