I've been giving some thought into switching around my days from week to week.

    Right now my split is:

    Mon - chest / bi's
    Tues - back
    Wed - off
    Thurs - shoulders / tri's
    Fri - legs
    Sat / sun - off

I like the muscle splits, but I want to know if it would be retarded to come in and switch the days that I do them around?

Or you know what fuck it, let's take it a step further and say that what if I wanted to switch the muscle groups around from week to week too?

Is it stupid doing that or what?

Don't see the point. And if you're not resting 2 days in a row there's not many variations you could use and not run into recovery issues.

i go 5 days a week and just do 1 body part and max it out. Ive seen the most improvement so far. And this way im not prone to missing a day or getting lazy as if i had more then 2 day off

See man and I think I'm getting tired of doing that.

I'd like to walk into the gym and just be like 'Ok I feel like workin shoulders and bi's today,' and then just adjust my routine for the rest of the week accordingly.

monday is international chest day. The weekends are international clubbing nights. everyone i see during the weekdays are never here on the weekends except the hardcore gym rats.

then do it. I havent set a specific day to work out a body part, i just usually start with something and do each body part on the day i feel like doing it.

To a certain degree, usually not what days I do what, but rather what exercises or rep schemes...I train very arbitrarily.

I've been keeping the same exercises for up to 2 months then switching up until recently.

Since I started this new routine I'm tryhing to emphasize rotating exercises and working on a range of variations of the basic lifts. Right now I keep my first compound exercise of the day for 2 weeks, then I cycle something else similar for 2 weeks. I haven't been going on this current routine long enough to switch up the assistance exercises yet... I'll probably switch those every 4-6 weeks.

I usually do the same basic routine but switch up certain exercises/reps every week.

Leg day I alternate front squats, heavy back squats, 20 rep squats
Chest day I alternate bench and incline bench DB or BB each are different weekly
Back day I swap dead lifts for good mornings
Arm day I swap which type of bar I use for hammer/standing curls. One week I'll do hammer curls on preacher others I'll do straight bar preacher then whichever other one I do non-preacher. Tris I swap skulls for seated with a DB behind my head.

Seems to work okay for me. :dunno:

I don't train the same days every week, but I stick with the same order. See my blog for details.
