Anyone Recommend me some good bookshelf speakers?

    Need to update my old ones. Want to keep it under $300 preferablly. Thanks.

    Assuming you want powered/active monitors, try these:

    Alesis M1 Mk2 - great monitors, possibly hard to find these days, but worth it

    Edirol ___ - any Edirol. not 'pro' by ANY means, but they'll do if you're not in it for reference, etc. A big assortment of digital and analog inputs make these monitors worth it, if you have multiple sources. The low-end is fucked (and too loud), and the tweeters are too focused, IMO. But good for what they do.

    Yamaha NS-10's with a good amp.

    etc. etc. Lot's of options...

    Do you sit in front (& center) of the monitors, or are they just for 'background' music? Do you care enough about the sound that you'd be willing to spend more than $300 if you didn't like any of the options that fit your budget? Tell us more, please!
