or, have just one or two blogs they read that they're cool with?

i read a lot of gaming blogs using RSS. same with tech blogs, etc.

problem is, i can never keep up with them, because there's so much repetition and bullshit posts. industry sales figures, rock band updates, new pokemon games, etc.

on one hand, it's nice to be part of what the gaming community is talking about *right now.* i'm a little obsessive about not missing out on news.

on the other hand, you see each story repeated across all the blogs, and the blog spamming is out of control. 400 posts a day across just a few blogs, it's insane.

so i'm thinking of switching to print just to slow things down.

    whatchu think?

Gamepro is good since Davison took over.

I've also bought EDGE a few times.

I don't see the point in game magazines anymore. It was fucking awesome back in the day before there was stuff like xbox live/live was just getting started and not everyone had cable. I would piss my pants every time my xbox magazine would come because it would have all sorts of cool shit on the disk, and same thing with ones for PC games except there was even more awesome shit on those ones. Nowadays information on new games and demos are ondemand on the internet :o

I miss those days a little :hsd:

Print mags still have something over online pubs that can't be replicated. I have no problem reading about stuff over again a month after I read about it online.

The only mag I followed recently was Play (despite some bias issues) since they cater to people who are really into gaming and have been so for years. They'd make references to the old PS1 niche game Tail of the Sun with no backstory whatsoever. Unfortunently they went belly up a couple months ago but are going to be relaunching as GameFan again (several of the people on Play's staff were from GF). I'll give it a chance when they start back up. Until then I'm going to start checking out Gamepro since it's apparently a whole new publication, and EGM is supposed to be coming back again.

As far as blogs I really only follow destructoid.

It's the year 2010, bro. Print media is on life support. Just let it die. It's in so much pain, man. FUCKING KILL IT. KILL IT GOOD.

I get em to read on the toilet, but they pretty much all suck. OXM, Playstation Mag, PC Gamer, etc... all have nothing much worth reading unless it's a big article on a big game coming out I'm interested in.
