i'm moving out to dc in 2 weeks and i'm wondering if anyone in here is out there? I've been looking at a few gyms around my area (tenleytown) and damn, the prices im finding are freakin expensive. i'm use to 30 bucks a month for 24 hr fitness...just wondering if anyone is out there and where they're working out and for how much. thanks!

I lived there last summer (just below you, right off Van Ness) but I had a gym in the basement of my firm so no need for a membership. I know a couple of guys that went to the gold just north of the Van Ness stop and seemed to like it. Not sure of the cost though :hs:

yeah i'm checking out gold's gym when i get out there...but it's like 1.2 miles away from my place and i have no car... im just wondering how 30 degree weather will motivate me to go out to the gym hahaha. there's a gym thats .1 miles away, sports and health, but its the very posh style gym, with an expensive membership. ugh.

It's like 70 bucks at the van ness gold's when I was there...which was two summers ago. There was a join-up fee too I think...just too much for me. Ended up just using the gym in my apt's basement, added 20lbs to my bench that summer...

I've ridden my bike in the winter here in Ann Arbor. It's doable.
