I just switched back to it from a 4 day split 2 weeks ago. Workouts seem a lot more intense and focused.

    Day1: Chest/Shoulders
    Day2: Legs/back
    Day3: off

    Any thoughts?

I started with a 3 day split when I started gettings serious about working out. Moved to a 4 day split, now thinking about a 5 day split to shorten my workouts and focus on the exercises.

Never did a 2 day split though.

i like the 4-days more for the exact same reason you like the 2-days

my 4 workouts seem way more intense and since i'm only focusing on the one muscle group, i feel like i get a much better workout

    day 1: chest
    day 2: back
    day 3: shoulders
    day 4: legs

yea when i first changed to the 4 day i was liking it. then it just didn't seem like it was enough to hit a muscle group once every 6 days.

just varying splits and timing is probably a good idea to do every now and then anyway.

timber had posted an article awhile back promoting the 2 day for strength and size gains.
you do fewer exercises per group but each one is more intense.
    im liking it so far.

yea i change the exercises every other day on too.

then i'll also focus on the group that i did last on the previous day on. (ie. legs then back on day 2 and back then legs on 5)

that's a good point... i might try to switch it up sometime in the future

but for right now, i like having a bunch of workouts for each muscle group... keeps me sore for a couple of days
