I'd like to get into photography. I'm already a decent photoshop artist/photo manipulator, but I need better pics than my regular ole point-and-shoot can offer. So if anyone was looking to part with a Nikon d40 for a decent (and by decent I mean low) price, I'd love to hear from you.

Or if you think there is a better beginner camera for me to start with, I'd love to hear your advice. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to buy body and a lens. I hear they come with a decent starter lens.

circuit city has 20% off D60 and D90's. I think D90 is like $1039 with the 18-115mm lens

The D60 and the D40 both do not have the AF motor in the body. You'll be limited to buying lenses that come with the AF motor inside.

That's the only fault I can find for these cameras for beginners.

I'd go for a used D50. Its a much better camera and is only going for like $250-300 used. Then the 18-55 is $100 new online.

I'm thinking of parting with mine as I can't see it ever being used again and carrying it around with a 50mm on it just in case is somewhat pointless:o

I'm looking to spend about $250 (including lens). Maybe $300 if I have to.

Anyone have anything in that price range they want to get rid of? Am I not spending enough?

I'd really like to get into photography, but I'm no millionaire (broke college kid ftl)

Ninja I'm doing some research on the d70 right now. I'll let you know.

if you want to contact me privately pm me or email [email protected]
