just figured i ask for the reasoning.

they are thicker than the average powerbook so that doesnt seem to be an issue

their batteries last longer so that doesnt seem to be an issue

    anyone? :dunno:

everything is pretty cramped in there. And I think they like selling the 15" and 17" units more.

Because they don't want to piss off their customers - who bought their PowerBook G4 just two weeks ago- even more by giving this upgrade.

I am kinda glad that they did not put bakclit light on 12 inch this time since I just bought mine two weeks ago and I can't even return mine at this point.

    call up apple

they are really suportive for the most part about that stuff

esp if you havent recieved it yet

also...if you bought it from say COMPUSA, they will take it back no questions

  6. It's extra money.

    And less caps lock please.

think about who buys a 12 inch powerbook...somebody who's cost consious. so why up the price? if you're willing to sacrifice screen real estate, keyboard backlighting hardly seems like a significant issue

    true.....but it would be nice

plus i could have gotten the 15 inch or 17 inch, i just wanted something portable so people who get the 12 inch are ALWAYS looking for the lowest price :)

Don't they (COMPUSA) charge some sort of restocking fee? Unless it's "defective" of course ;)

I bought a 12 inch iBook so that I would always have it with me. A 15 is a pain.

I want the 12" for portability -- not cost. If the 15" was cheaper, I'd still get the 12"...

yep. though some do buy it based on cost, which is why they should at least make backlit keyboards an extra cost option for the 12'er. :)

:nono: I worked at a compusa and that's bs, we'll give you all kinds of shit if it's working and within the return policy date, and even more if it's not. Hell, IIRC high ticket functioning items like laptops can't even be returned anymore unless they are defective or unopened.
