I don't want to buy a new mac until those are out.

Since most of the shit I do on my powerbook is with Adobe or Macromedia... I don't want to make the upgrade until after those are universal.

anyone know when that's supposed to happen?

bad no, just it's tons slower than what it'll be when the universal binary comes out.

if you installed windows (bootcamp or parallels) and photoshop, photoshop in windows would blow photoshop in osx out of the water because it doesn't need to be run through rosetta...

yeah, photoshop takes like 30 seconds to load in os x. way longer than it should on a 2 ghz processor and 2 gb of ram...

oh well. i dont use it that often anyways.

No, it's the new centrino platform.New chipset, new integrated graphics, EFI rather than bios (I assume it replaces it, certainly it is part of the platform), 800Mhz FSB as opposed to the 667 currently used and 802.11n wifi supported. Core 2 Duo will still be the chip used, though it will have a different socket. The next generation of chips will come out at the end of next year.
