Techno is good, rock is good as long as it's not metal, and rap is not so good. Can anyone help me out?

What are you looking for? I'm listening to Larry Graham and Graham Central Station which has tons of butt shaking bass. Marvin Gaye's What's Going On features the incredible James Jamerson and Parliament's Mothership Connection has Mr. Bootsy Collins (say no mo').

On the rock side, I've felt for a long time that the Real Me by the Who sets the stadard for rock bass performances (RIP Ox). I'm not a big Chili Peppers fan, but Flea can tear it up.

Chris Squire (Yes) and Geddy Lee (Rush) are also incredible bass players, though, again not sure what you're looking for.

I guess that's the big thing. Are you looking for just generally great bass performances, bass solos, or some real strong, nas-T, funk?

The last one lol, as long as it's real deep bass with a good beat. Thanks for the other suggestions, I'll have to check them out when I get home.

Shpongle got several tracks with tons of bass, "divine moments of truth" is his most famous song.

If you are well equipped (read: subs with plenty of power), this one will rattle you quite nicely.
