Just as the title says, I want to know if there are any good ways about doing this. I have an iPod I want to hook up with my current system. The only things I've found on the web are tutorials on how to add them to a stock system or using FM modulation(which I don't want to do).

    Any help is appreciated.

Depending on the headunit you can easily get a cable that converts your cd changer or satelite radio input into stereo RCA's. Then all you need is a minijack to RCA cable to go from your ipod to the RCA cable from the headunit. Then switch to AUX. or whatever input on your headunit.

It's a 2000 Nissan Altima and the headunit is an Eclipse 5403 I think.

I dont know about the eclipses, But i have a pioneer that has an IP bus attachment that you can plug in the back as an AUX imput, Then its basically rca inputs, then i have the cable come out the center console so i can plug into the ipod. Then i use Tunedok for putting it in my cupholder, witch is really nice....

I'm not sure about the 5403, but on the 5423 (this years model of that level) there are Aux inputs. so all you would need is a headphone jack to rca output (you can get this at Radioshack fairly cheap) to get it to play through the stereo.

assuming your cd player has the aux inputs, hooking the ipod up would just be another source to go through, kind of like switching between the radio and cd's

As long as the headunit supports an alpine disc changer or satellite radio. You just need to get a $12 cable from alpine that converts the satelite input end to rcas. I did this with my alpine and an ipod.
