    I used the guide at http://www.openspf.org/ but I'm not sure about one thing... All my mail is sent from addresses like webmaster@[I]mysite[/I].com, sales@[I]mysite[/I].com, etc. and my mail server is mail.mysite.com but all the PHP scripts that send mail end up using my hostname in the return path so they are sent from [email protected][I]mysite[/I].com, so should my SPF record look like this:

    "v=spf1 a a:server01.mysite.com ~all"

    Or do I not need to worry about the server01 thing and I can just set it to:

    "v=spf1 a ~all"

    Why not fix the server so it doesn't send from the default user of the server?
    You should be able to correct it with a php.ini edit and specify the account mail sends from.

    Drop something like this in the script folder as a php.ini file

    Code:
    [I]sendmail_path = "/usr/local/bin/sendmail -t -i -F [email protected] -f [email protected]"[/I]

    From what I understand, I would have to recompile apache with PHPSuExec and phpsuexec is suppose to be a massive resource hog.

    I do have the only account on the server. I wonder if I just add that to /usr/lib/php.ini if it would work without the phpsuexec thing?
