Bought a PS3 over the weekend and found out I can't hook it up to my monitor without dropping $130 on some 3rd party bullshit HDMI to VGA adapter, so now I'm in the market for either a new TV or monitor.

I remember hearing that prices for HDTVs and the like will likely fall a lot for the holidays. Anyone have any insight in this?

oh, well. :) my guess was wrong. so, if it isn't new models, then it is just holiday pricing. everything goes on sale around the times of holidays.

Black Friday usually has some really good tv deals, if you can wait that long, and don't mind waiting in line for ~6 hours.

Costco has a 32" Westinghouse 720p LCD TV for $399.99 right now. I bought it the other day, and while the quality of the TV itself and the picture was really good for the price paid, using it as a computer monitor at just 1366x768 was kinda pointless.

As a TV, it's really good for the price, and you can buy it now and return it without a restocking fee within 90 days if you find a better deal during the holiday shopping season :coolugh:

i've been looking into this for a while.. i heard from black friday until after christmas, tv's will be very cheap.

it said look for some 32" lcds to drop below $400 :coolugh: probably westing, vizio, toshiba, etc.

And it also said they might rise back up after february when demand for hdtv's rises because of digital cable

i might buy a 37" vizio right after christmas.. sears has one right now for $600.. older model but still fucking :coold:

I've never owned nor knew anyone who's had a mitsu tv, but that looks pretty badass and the reviews are good :dunno:
