anyone know anything about these programs?

    There are two programs that try to connect to the internet that i'm unfamiliar with

    esud.exe
    and
    hwtactm.exe

    anyone know what these programs are? or what they do?

    c'mon, someone has to know about these things... i don't want to allow them access to the internet (I have zonealarm) b/c I don't know what they do, but I can't seem to figure out if I need them or not

    No clue... Can you run a seach on the files to see what directory they are in? Like you are doing, don't allow them access until you know what they are.

    esud.exe is in WINDOWS/Prefetch (it's actually called ESUD.EXE-024A6337.pf)

    hwtactm.exe is in 2 folders:
    HWTACTM.EXE-3B2216A5.pf is in WINDOWS/Prefetch
    hwtactm.exe is in WINDOWS/system32

    any ideas fellas? should i get rid of these or what?

    anybody? I don't know what to do about these files or why they're running on my system (trying to access the internet)

    The second one is most likely one of the spyware/adaware/virus/trojan horses that renames itself everytime it starts... Its probably a good guess that the first one is also.

    There are a couple hundred threads explaining how to get rid of these issues...

    The names aren't changing, but they're still trying to get at the internet... I think i'm just gonna delete them since i can't find them on any other pc i've come in contact with and nobody here seems to know anything about them or what they do... must not be crucial to anything i'm doing on here, so...
