Im at college and last friday night i was drunk as hell and fell out of the top bunk twisting my knee. Next day i get up and its swollen and i cant move it too well but it doesn't hurt that bad, so today i go down to the trainers office and she says it might be a torn ACL. My question is, is it possible to tear your ACL and still walk around on it fine???

Yes. A friend of mine tore his ACL playing basketball and sometimes it just aches. But you can potentially still walk.

Our center played our entire football season with a torn ACL. He wore a brace but said it hurt like hell after every game.

Quite possible. It would usually hurt during the initial tear for about a minute or so and then feel only "funny" unless you twist the knee slightly or try to bend it. I'm recovering from a sprained MCL in Early January, just see a doctor and take it easy. Lift what you can but nothing to cause pain or discomfort, just enough to help keep the ROM. I oly squatted 285 this morning, my knee is coming around quite well :coold:.

How the hell do people play FOOTBALL SEASONS on torn ACLS? I've seen 2 people in person tear their ACL, and it required immediate surgery (after the swelling subsided) and although one of them could walk with it before surgery, they sure as hell couldn't run and ESPECIALLY couldn't make the necessary cuts to play football at a decent level. Also I've never heard of a pro or college player with a torn ACL doing anything but missing the rest of the season. Sprained ligaments, perhaps, but never full-out torn.

lots of tape and braces. Senior year of high school my buddy did it, and my freshmen year of college a senior on the team played his last game with a torn ACL.

passion can overcome a lot things

they were both O-linemen tho... not as much cutting
