Basically I need to control 4 different monitors all showing different stuff from the same computer. Can I do this with two Dual Head video cards?

I worked on a project doing just that a few years ago. Technology has changed since then, but we did it with a dual-head AGP and two single-head PCI cards. I would assume that you can do it with a dual head PCI card nowadays. The only problems were that when we used all nVidia chips, OpenGL windows would black out when they were dragged from one card to another. The only way to know for sure is to try it out.

I worked with a company a few years ago that had some quad-head AGP cards. Dual head AGP cards are common but I don't know if there's any dual head PCI cards. But as long as the card (or combination of cards) is supported by Win2k or XP, the OS can use them all.

 Thanks for the info guys. That MATROX PARHELIA card looks like it will do the trick. Going to try to find some of these quad-head AGP cards.

I think those quad head cars are crazy expensive. I remember that our customer did not want to buy them to put on the quad-proc Xenons with 4GB or RAM and 4 19" LCD's... cheap bastards!

I think the ATI Radeon cards will all do dual monitors, I used to have a 7500 PCI that would do dual heads... my 9600 AIW has two CRT outs on it also, I think they have a PCI version...

I know that newegg.com has some dual head agp and dual head pci cards.. both vga out if that's what you need. You might check there for that type of solution.

Matrox is the way to go for multi out Graphics Adapters. They have been in that game for alot longer than others. I have a Matrox VGA 4 port PCI Card in one of machines here at work... Works great along with ultramon...
