A&P Anyone here use flash brackets?

    Are they more effective than just having the flash on the shoe?

    When I do wedding receptions I usually use a flash bracket.

    Helps with shadows in portrait orientation.

    Yeah it makes it into a "rig" and then your xp increases by 100hp per exposure.

    :nono: It makes it into a rig so you can blur the background. But people aren't interested in the background at weddings, so you shouldn't need one.

    And by exposure I don't mean actually using the shutter button. People seeing you with the giant clusterfuck erector set bracket and cable > anything.

    I use one and yes mainly when shooting in portrait orientation is when its more effective.

    it moves the flash further away from the lens axis - the effects of doing this are why people use them

    I just duck tape flashes to my knees and shoulders with pws on them , they call me robot flash man.

    when inside I just hold it in my hand and shoot with the other
