I forgot what it's called where you can travel by a military cargo plane, granted that they have extra space and are willing to take you on board to wherever they're going.

They won't let you. No valid ID card, no benefits.

I don't even know where to fucking begin on it. About.com has some articles on it, but it's so fucking confusing once you start looking for participating installations, etc. :dunno:

:werd: i read some parts of DoD 4515.13R and it says going to my destination is not guaranteed, bring extra money for a commercial airfare in case shit happens, and my spot on the plane can be taken away last minute by higher ranking officers

Space A can bump you for a lot of things

A higher ranking personnel walks up, someone with orders walks up, etc etc...hell they can even pull you off of the aircraft if it's still on the runway and give your seat to someone else.

Space A is nice because it used to be like 10 bucks, but I would never rely on it to get you anywhere you want to be unless you have a lot of time to waste.

When I flew from Germany to Bahrain it was on a C-130, but that was because that was the only travel they offered going to that location.

in the 80's I flew MAC all the time from St John's Newfoundland to Philly. Sitting backwards and looking at your luggage, wearing ear plugs the entire flight etc etc...it's kinda cool when you're a kid:o

I know for a fact that you can get from Charleston AFB to Germany and back pretty easy. there are almost daily Germany runs.

I was merely a passenger, and there were a total of 5 of us.

We were issued ear plugs and provided with a meal. :bigthumb: The kids weren't allowed to board on their own and had to be carried for safety.
