I was in the USAF for 6 years, out in 05. I am looking to go back in to the Navy, Marines, or the Army. I would make the Military a career if I go back in.

I am having a hard time figuring out what career to go into. I don't want any office job.

    My ideas...

    Navy - E.O.D., S.W.C.C., S.E.A.L.

    Marines - Infantry, Recon

Army - Spec. Forces, Ranger, Airborne infantry

    A.S.V.A.B. - 94

Army PT Test 324 (not in great shape at the time, would score higher). I have to work on swimming the most. I can hit 18 - 20 pullups and do over 100 pushups.

    Any suggestions?

Have you ever taken an Army PT test? There are no pullups or swimming, and anything over 300 is only counted on the bullshit extended scale.

I know. We had Army reservists with us at the base, that is why we did the Army PT Test. I didn't know over 300 was b.s. This was taken in 03 when I was very new to fitness.

    11:50 2 mile
    85 pushups
    87 situps

I just know that there are pullups on the Marine PT test and in training in general. Pull-ups are a good test of real strength, that is why I do them. I need to work on my swimming in general.

It wasn't meant to brag or anything, I just didn't want you to think I was a fat fuck wannabe.

But, seriously, I am going to go into something.

:eek5: Wow 324 on your PT test? You must be so proud!!!!

edit: if you scored 94 on your asvab, do you really want to be with infantry people that scored much less? Go intel, you learn a lot of cool shit

I was thinking about that. I also want to take the language aptitude test.

I just want to be happy. I was proud to be in the AF and deployed 6 times, I just wasn't so proud to be Security Forces.

    BETTER QUESTION -

What is your job in the service, and do you like it?

    Because it's funny.

Seriously though ask your questions and sort through the bullshit responses to find the real answers.

stay out of those navy ideas unless you are 100% positive you can make it, because if you dont make it, you still signed that navy contract and will soon be moping around in the fleet somewhere...

perhaps you'll get better responses if you asked questions about the jobs themselves rather than ask for suggestions onto which branch and job to get into.

I am actually talking to the Marine recruiters. They go to the gym where I am a personal trainer. I am talking to the Recon Sgt. Friday to get a plan on where I should be physically if I decide to go in.

I can't do ANY job in the AF, unless it is Security Forces...not even PJ or CCT.

I have a couple months until I join (I am selling my business), so I have time to train and to sort through what I want to do.

Army 68/91W combat medic... or you could try to go for an SF 18D slot... but you'll be in school for a couple of years... but as a medic, you can wind up being anywhere, with anyone... from assisting a nurse in a hospital, to knocking down doors with a line unit, to falling asleep in the back of a 113...

Why are you interested in navy EOD, but not the ARMY EOD?
