    As you all know I just recently had my new design coded into wordpress and setup. Now, for some reason when I login to the admin panel, and I click on "comments" on the dashboard, it just loads a blank page. I can see the latest comments that were posted on my site in the dashboard, however when I click to view them, just a blank page loads. There's no HTML being generated or PHP errors being detected. I also have all the correct files installed so I am not sure what is going on. When clicking the "comments" link it just brings me to "the edit-comments.php page, but it is completely blank.

    Anyone have any idea what may be causing this? I have the facebook connect plugin installed, and i deactivated it to test if that was the issue but it is still occuring.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    could be a number of things:

    1) it is an ajax script error

    2) from personal experience, i had a similar problem, i took out a line of php code that was toHtml()'ing some shit. but thats not an ajax error. try looking into bo'f

    3) sql ehROR. go into phpmyadmin and delete the trouble causing comment.

    Sounds like a possible error 500.

    You can find that by:
    1 - Try to locate an "error_log" file in your directory and see what errors are in there.
    2 - If you have ssh access, you can always run: php edit-comments.php and see what it returns on the command line. PM me if you need any help.

    So far i've:

    - deactivated all plugins, still get the error
    - looked through error_logs, found nothing
    - deleted all unapproved and spam comments through phpmyadmin since i cannot access the comments page to do it manually
    - ran edit-comments.php through ssh and found nothing

    what else can I do? i cant fucking figure out why this page will not load.

    Wordpress disables some PHP errors/warnings. Add this to your wp-config.php file to enable all errors/warnings:
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

    I would re-install and see what happens. Did you just change hosts?

    yea i went from dreamhost to wiredtree, and from shared to vps. I also went from an old theme to a new theme, but that shouldnt fuck with the edit-comments page.

    the page loads as blank, meaning it fails before it can even produce any html. What your saying to do has PHP errors, WP_Debug shows issues with WP function calls, like missing indexes and incorrect object handling...so it would only work if the page loaded

    it would also tell you what php call failed to load the page.

    try it.

    also try putting
    Code:
     set_time_limit(120);
    at top of php file of comment edits

    Not entirely true. This has cured a problem with similar blank page output in the past for me, but obviously it's not the solution everytime.

    here is his problem:

    hes got 12000 comments

    he set no limit to char input for these comments

    php cannot retrieve so much information from db at a given time.

    there are many routes to go by to fix this, which one sounds like a best fix

    get into db and drop tables or

    alter core files to retrieve huge amount of data...
