Haven't you overlooked Neil Young, Rush, Steve Yzerman, and Timbits (aka donut holes)?

The Band in all its splendor was the crystallization of time and place, hard work and good fortune, shrewd planning and fortuitous circumstance, technical brilliance and honed musical sensibilities, heartfelt dedication and clear direction. Each and every member of The Band was an alchemist in the truest sense of the word. The enchantment they created so many years ago, the spell they cast upon us, can never be denied.

Check out Bob Dylan's "Basement Tapes" as well, he recorded it with the members of the Band (then called the Hawks) in 1967 while recovering from a motorcycling accident

All their work with him is awesome. They were the band touring with him in Scorsese's documentary.

A lot of the olf folk singers were from Canada. Mama Cass(One of the guys from that band was Canadian too), Joni Mitchell, neil young, Gordon lightfoot, Leonard Cohen

    Half of Steppenwolf was Canadian

We also sent a lot of Jazz musicians south like Oscar Peterson

Some of most 'American" songs were sung and written by Canadians like American Woman and California Dreaming, Born to be wild, and the Weight.

Oh ya, what about Safety Dance? Huh?

There are a lot of great modern artists as well, Avril, Nickleback and other not withstanding. We also apologize to Vegas for Celine Dion. You gave us a magical land of gambling, pirate ships and prostitutes and we send you a French Canadian.

There are a lot more popular bands taht I didn't mention but I really don't like them.

half of TV is Canadian and a huge amount of your comedy actors over the years as well.

But overall you do have a lot more famous musicians. You are 10x the population of us.

The Band is unreal, however it is unfortunate that you cannot even do a search for them online due to their name... Who saw that one coming?

Unique band names are in, for searchablity purposes.

Band names like: Why Twist The Hair / Aerosmith / other suggestions?
