anyone here do weighted dips *VID*?

anyone do weighted dips? if so how much weight?

my problem is that i've been trying to pound my tris with heavy compounds like weighted dips and CG bench, but they still don't grow. i can do 3 plates on weighted dips but my arms are still only like 15.5" wtf? :hsd:

i do them every other chest/tri day. but i only use a 25lb plate aiming for 10-12 reps.

consider cable pull downs with the rope, db kickbacks, and extensions.

Even bodyweight dips make my shoulders feel funny, perhaps I should just lose weight

If you want your arms to grow, you are gonna have to eat some food

Well, I haven't done them since around this time last year, so I think I'm good. I was getting pretty good at them. I could do 5 reps with a 10lb DB between my feet!

i use the seated dip machine at my gym. it's a lot more comfortable than regular dips, doesn't seem as stressful on the shoulders. kills my tri's every time :o

havent done dips since the middle of high school - the pressure is way too much for my shoulders. But I also know two older PLers (50+) (not competeing, internet legends) that fill up the dip belt with weight every week. some people can handle it, some cant.

i do weighted dips all the time. usually just 1 45lbs plate though, i've never tried more than that, but i usually do around 12 with that much weight. and when I do dips i go deep too... real deep... balls deep.

3 45lb plates? Are you sure you are doing a full dip? WHat you should do is maybe do some isolation and then some compuond movements.

same story here, no matter how hard i hit my tris they still wont grow BUT they have increased in strength... i couldnt do dips when i started so i used the sitting machine, i still prefer it to the weighted one now that i can do them manually..

tricep extensions though are what really put the pressure on triceps for me.

My arms are a little under 17 I'm 5'9 at 180 today. Ican only dip 2 45's. Try doing isolation first, trust me, you will be suprised.
