I am thinking about getting a pair of the HC 18"s and I was wondering if anyone had dealt with them before. Especially the tech support/customer service area.

Holy shit, a pair??? Is this for a daily driver? Dear god you are going to tear your car/ears/body to pieces! :)

Anyways, I was going to buy an SE series for my brother's car, but the website went down, and when we called the store no one answered. So I dunno, maybe they were busy or something? :dunno: Perhaps now they have gotten things back in order.

Hey denim. Looks like I will actually be going with the Shocker III 18"s. I know their customer support can suck at times, but the user reconeable feature and pricing made the final decision for me. I will be doing one of the 18"s in a grand am. around 10 cu. ft. with a single D2 to begin with, when competitions season rolls around it will be 2 D2's.

just curious why you went with a .9 cu. ft box rather than a .75?

You would get a lower q value, resulting in less boomy bass...

The RE's are badass! IMO, they are better than shockers. At least when we blow em, we can get recones within a month. Unlike our shockers  still waiting on them mike.....

Plus I get the RE hookup, so it makes the choice that much easier:bigthumb:

The whole reason I was going with the RE's in the first place was because of the recone issue. I have heard some really bad stories about trying to get them reconed. I guess that is one of the main reasons he decided to make the Shocker III's user reconeable.

My friend bought a pair of RE XXX's couple monts back. The subs are completly insane they weigh 58 pounds. We have built about 6 ported boxes for it. RE Customer Service is awesome just talk to Terry or some random idiot will be talking to you. This is their UK Distro all the specs are on here Bladeice
