basicaly ive been trying to get my fatass parents to slim down, but that isnt happening. My mom showed me her ankle today and its swolen to shit from arthritis (Shes 58).. Id like to combat this problem before it becomes a life changing issue.. Studies show glucosamine to be worthless..How about shark cartilage??

I too am interested in this because I've cracking my knuckles for as long as I can remember and now my knuckles are larger than they should normally be and while I don't have a lot of pain in my fingers, they seem to lock out on their on and they feel very awkward at times. I've been workin on not crackin my knuckles but was wondering what I could do in the future to help this.

I see commercials like every day on laser theropy as a new FDA approved procedure that "works" but I cant vouch for it.

I've heard it is good, but I also heard MSM can make arthritis go away - have to take it with Vit C, though.

Shark cartilage=chondroitin. And if you're referencing the studies that didn't show a significant improvement w/glucosamine, IIRC they used a glucosamine/chondroitin combo in some of those.

FWIW, I've always had good results with glucosamine/chondroitin and knee pain.

How long have you been taking it? It's a cumulative effect, you won't notice results after just a week of taking it. More like 4-6 weeks.
