I'm in my google analytics account and trying to add the new tracking code to a footer.tpl on my website.

I copy and paste the script, but google keeps telling me its not connecting.

    Any thoughts?

    1) Make sure it's including it on your index page
    2) make sure you're not doing any kind of funky redirecting to get to your index page.
    3) make sure it's at the bottom of your HTML, just above the </body> tag

that's actually what it was. My index.php redirects to home.php. Home.php contains a header body and footer .tpl so I just took the static analytics tag and added it to my footer.tpl right above the /body tag.
