I don't see the point. You should be able to eyeball close enough that any tilt can be fixed in post.

I still shoot film sometimes also...once the negative is scanned into aperture/lightroom the workflow is identical.

I use the gridlines on liveview to match up with horizons when I'm shooting with a tripod

Umm, the point is that you have a level attached to your tripod or camera. If you have to whip your phone out of your pocket and strap it to your camera, it kind of defeats the purpose.

I use a 6-7 inch long carpenters level. The ones that come on tripods (even my $1500 telescope tripods rigs) are crap and not worth using.

Now if you happen to have a tripod with the horizontal bubbles instead of the little round one with the circle in the middle then that level probably works pretty good.

I use my D700 leveler :fawk:

Though truth be told I never really use it either. I eyeball it and rotate later if I missed it.

I use the grid display on my D80. But even then, when shooting hand held, I have a bad habit of holding with my right, not cradling with my left. So I end up tilting the shot to the right. something I’m trying to re-train myself from doing.
