I have always noticed how the underside would get insanely hot.

Any ideas to keep it cool? Before going out to buy a cooler I just glued 10 pennies together and set them on each corner. Right now I'm running

    84.2?/29.0? Battery
    120.7?/49.2? Graphics Processor Bottomside
    111.7?/44.2? Power Supply/Memory
    115.7?/46.5? Processor Bottomside
    113.0?/45.0? SMART Disk Toshiba

Does that seem to be plenty cool?

the underside gets hot cuz thats the battery. Its perfectly normal..

If your macbook was overheating it would be crashing.

(macbook, just on OT with nothing else going on in the background. sitting on a mattress)
sometimes it gets up there around 150f when i watch something on youtube in firefox
if i'm making an xvid with mediafork, it will reach 180f and the fan will be on super high

my MBP runs hot but its from use. I have the back propped up on a thin paper back book and the temp seems to have gone down since I have done this. also has anyone realized how hot the bottom of the screen around the hinge gets, mine gets hot.

mac laptops run hot in general. my ibook is fine for normal use, but if i start to watch video the temp goes up pretty quick and the fans kick in.

and the battery does heat up, but that's not the reason. it's either the cpu or the hard drive that are getting hot...

I find that anything that uses java causes teh temps to skyrocket on my Macbook....frostwire and Azureus are the main culprits
