HP all-in-ones use special parts that their normal printers don't use, and some of those parts are either very poorly designed, or are specifically designed to break after a couple of years.

Don't buy an all-in-one; buy a separate printer and scanner, perhaps in a matched set to ensure that you can make photocopies easily. That way if the scanner breaks, you don't have to replace the printer, and vice versa.

Also, those HP all-in-ones usually come with horrible drivers that load eleventy billion processes at startup and crash a lot. I'd like to stab HP driver writers in the face for being so bad at their jobs.

I think thats the printer I have. No complaints. The driver is too big, though.

I've used and owned a number of HP multi functions over the years and not had a problem with any of them, from the low end to the high end. $50 is probably cheaper than the two ink cartridges you get with it. If you are just looking for something to do occasional printing ranging from single sheets to 11ty page documents and/or photos it should be fine.

Agreed. I paid $100 for mine, and I have no complaints whatsoever.
