NewEgg just went off the deep end. They took off the Verbatim 30 Pack 8x DVD DLs for $39.99 w/ free shipping and have replaced them with a 15 Pack 8x for $23.99 + $5.99 shipping, or $29.99 and you only get 15. That makes each disk $1.9 a pop. Used to be $1.4 each. :wtc:

Doesn't seem like much at first, but when I'm used to buying 60 a week fo r$84 and then having to pay $115 each time, it sort of hurts my heart. :hsd:

So far looks like it may be Fry's. I can get 2 of the 30 Packs 8x for $39.99 each and overnight shipping is $12. Puts it at pretty much the same amount I was paying NewEgg since I had to pay tax, but always got free overnight shipping. Eeeehhhhhhhh!!!

Why do you need so many discs? What are you running a bootleg operation out of your basement?

Damnit, turns out we have a distribution center here in TN, but called Frys and customer service didn't know if I ordered standard shipping would it ship next day. That's how it works with NewEgg. :uh:

how about instead of ordering them and then using next day shipping, you order them a few days early and then use standard

That's what I'm going to do, but I needed them for Saturday. FedEx just dropped them off in our mini-blizzard 5 minutes ago.

But sometimes I go through DVDs quick, sometimes I don't. So I'll try to order some next week on a Tuesday or Wednesday and hope they come next day.

Windata 8x discs work just as well as Verbatim. I used Verbatim for years, for anything I burned, but Windata works fine and they're dirt cheap.

I don't know if I can roll with anything but Verbatim. I have some customers that have drives from 2005 that will only read Verbatim...
