I'm considering gettign one in 223. I read that compared to the ltr that it does rust a little and most people who have gotten them have suggested duracoating them. Was looking to get it and a can. I was reading up on snipershide and this guy did a beautiful job with his.

I prefer black stocks and fluted barrels... But still that's a nice rifle.

I have a 700PSS LTR. The parkerizing is nice, and not having to worry about rust on the barrel, as the trigger guard already has some minor spotting. The flutes also add to the asthetics. Don't know much about the SPS tactical, but my LTR does sub MOA with good ammo. MOA with milsurp NATO 7.62. The Kevlar stock is nice too with the texture and the two sling mounts on the stock.

thanks guy, I had my shop guy put in an order for the sps tactical, I did some research on snipers hide and the guy said that with the fluting that after a couple shots moa increases to 1"+ groups. They also said the finish is better on the ltr.

Guy quoted me 539 for the rem 700 sps tac in 223 with the xmark pro trigger.

the point of impact shifting as the barrel heat won't mean a damn thing if you're familiar with the rifle/load and can properly compensate.

depends on the load. you'll need to make your own tables. i keep a notebook in my range case for this reason.
