After reading the thread posted about how bad sitting is for your posture, I have decided it makes sense to get a herman miller chair. I work at a job where I am sitting 9 hours a day and even though I do occasionally try to take breaks every hour or so, I find that I am occasionally sitting for 2+ hours straight.

I already have 2 bulging discs from a squat injury a few years ago, so I want to make sure I am not doing further damage by sitting with poor posture. Does anyone have a Herman Miller chair? Are they worth the cost? Do you have any recommendations on a specific model?

I just bought the Aeron like-new from ebay for about 600 bux. It was well worth the investment for my lower back. The lumbar support and recline is excellent.

i realized the same thing three years ago because i was experiencing wrist, neck and back pain from my office depot chair, which seemed to be built only to last a year. went on an all out search. spinal surgery patients have to pay particular attention to support etc. and the first thing they try is herman miller aeron (sp). then return it as pain resurges and switch to ergogenesis.

i have this one in black and all the trimmings (adjustable lumbar, adjustable arm rests, pivoting armrests): linky

love it. esp. the contour seat and lumbar. the damned thing weighs like 90lbs :eek4:

office had 500+ of those chairs...when we were laid off people stole theirs.

I had my truck back then I wish I had stolen mine too, wasn't the clepto that I am now :mamoru:

if you sit in a chair all day for work that's probably one of the best chairs you can have.
