if so...what do you think of it? I'm debating whether to get one or not.

Test ride it and decide for yourself.

I should have been more clear. I'm debating whether its worthwhile to get an 04 instead of a new 03. The price differential isn't all that much.

As to whether its too much bike, I don't think so. I've been riding for 16 years, including a couple of literbikes already. Just looking for personal opinions from any 04 owners about the bike in general.

Any regrets after purchase...stuff that I might not discern from a test ride (i.e. stuff OTHER than the motor, handling, etc)

Depends on how much of a deal you can get on a 03? A buddy of mine just picked up a 03 for $7300 w/1400 miles. The bike is mint. The 04 has more power and the riding position is a little more comfortable. It handles better than a 03.
