Anyone got any tips for removing the HU from a 2002 Civic EX? **56 Ghey N/A on Pics**

Ive been trying to remove panels, stretch wires around, get screwdrivers in small places, but theres metal bars all over the place and it looks impossible to get out... If anyone has any advice for removing the thing, tools etc... any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can take pics of the inside of the dash if necessary.

im going in through the passenger side dash... through the glove compartment. should i go in through drivers side? i can see the 2 screws on the left side holding it in but my screwdrivers wont fit in there at that angle

you say there are a few screws holding it all in... does the entire unt (with the little storage compartment thing where the LX cd player goes) come out or do i need to remove the dash

Thanks for helping... I appreciate it

after the HU switch that sub you brought is goin in :)

Yes, the thing with the flip down lid needs to come out and you will need a dash kit. I didn't install my HU, but I have seen an installer just pull the area around the HU staight out of the car without removing any screws. My car is a 2002 Civic EX. I'm not sure if he could do this because the factory HU was already removed or not, but I didn't see him remove anything, you just have to pull on it kinda hard and it snaps out and back in. Its kinda hard to describe without pics. But you can't just pull the radio out, you need to pull the dash piece out with all of your ac/heater control knobs to access it. You will need an aftermarket to factory wiring harness as well.
