Looking to replace my daily carry with a glock.:wtc: I told myself I wouldn't be a fan-boy, but alas my spirit has broken. I'm wondering if the 2oz would make a big difference and being slightly larger. I'd carry an extra mag either way.

Looking at the G23 and G27.

I shoot my 26 better than my 19 for some reason. Still can't figure it out, but I thought I would hate the 2-finger grip and ended up loving it.

That said, the G26 is noticeable lighter and easier to conceal, but the G19 is still pretty easy to conceal (same exact boat you would be in).

  3. The 23 is 4 ounces more than the 27 when they're both loaded. The 1/2" longer 23 shouldn't be too bad, but it's more than 3/4" taller, which might be a bit less fun to conceal.

Don't they make a grip extension so you can fit 3 on it?

They do, but then it becomes just as hard to conceal as the compact. There's no point in buying a subcompact if you're going to put a grip extension on it because the grip is the hardest part to conceal.

I have 5 mags, 2 came with the gun and have the Pearce extensions, 2 I put the GAP baseplates on (www.concealablecontrol.com) and 1 is stock. The GAP ones are by far my favorite.

Wirelessly posted via wap.offtopic.com (Opera/9.51 Beta (Microsoft Windows; PPC; Opera Mobi/2723; U; en))

    both will conceal very well

That's what I meant by extension. Just something so my pinky is on the grip.

GAP baseplates don't allow your pinky to be on the grip, it still tucks underneath like a brazilian tranny.

You're thinking of the Pearce/Scherer extensions.

I suggest a Glock 26 or 27 they are the sub-compact Glocks that you can pocket carry easily in most "docker-type" pants or hiking shorts with the big cargo pockets. GAP Industries make a flat mag floorplate with a finger rest/extension that doesn't add any height to the gun. You don't have to pocket carry it, but pocket carry can be a huge plus depending on how you dress.

The 19, 23 30, and 29 are great platforms/guns, but being larger are harder to CCW than the smaller 26 and 27.

I carry a G27 or G23 daily. Just depends on what I'm wearing.... if I can cover the 23 easily or not. Weight is not an issue... once it's in the holster the difference is not noticeable.

It's basically going to come down to which one you are comfortable shooting. It isn't that hard to conceal either one... I only mention it above because I do have both and have the choice.

    I went from a G27 to G23.

I almost always carried the grip extension, so it was displacing the same amount of shirt as the 23 while carrying less ammo, and the thickness is the same, so there was no advantage there either.

I shot the 27 yesterday. Shot better with that than my P250. :(

I dunno what I am going to pick up, the 26 or 27. I should be reloading .40 soon. I want to shoot the 26 and 27 side by side next, to see if there is a big difference or not.

i went from a CZ 75 P-01 which is their compact frame SA/DA to the Glock 26.

needless to say, the glock is hands down the better of the two for concealment

I have both as well. Originally I was a better shot with my 27, but practice fixed that. They both conceal well, but the shorter grip and overall size make the 27 dissapear. I do not own any of the GAP base plates, but I hear they are awesome. I have one pearce +0 and one pearce +2 base plates, but I shoot better with none.
