My sis is looking to get one, and I plan on using it whenever I need a 5 seater. I'm not really concerned about power since I doubt there is anything you can do to spruce up the motor, but what about suspension mods? I hear the Honda Fit is really fun to drive, however shes's not gonna pay the outrageous 25k a lot of dealers are asking for. I figure a Scion XB would be a much cheaper alternative and was wondering if I can make the driving experience a tad more lively.

I'm gonna guess that you could put on some nice springs, maybe a front strut tower bar, then get some nice wheels and tires and that should drive pretty nice.

$25k? Are you thinking of the Civic Si? I have a hard time believing any dealership is marking up Fits by 10 grand.

Anyway yeah, mild stiffening of the suspension would help. However, the xB's center of gravity is quite high, and the suspension tech is... shall we say... lacking. You won't be getting nearly the same fun-to-drive quotient as a Fit. On the other hand, it's a significantly more spacious vehicle.

You'd be suprised. I have seen private sellers selling their used Fits at that price.

How much was the blower and how much power did it add?

Uhh, that's fuckin retarded, and they deserve a cockpunch.

Anyway I found this in about 2 minutes: http://www.elkgrovehonda.com/detail.cfm?ID=180449

    (granted, it's an auto)

I would be surprised if you can't go to the dealer and order one however you want it and pay MSRP.

It says retail price on that site and doesn't list the dealer mark-up (which I assure you there will be.)

Here's the used Fit I saw in my area: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/203860971.html

Dealer markup is rediculous in Cali. I remember when the STI first came out, dealers were selling it for 50k :ugh2: When I was shopping for my Corvette, dealers wanted 10k over MSRP, which I immediatly walked out on. I then bought my car out of state and saved 3k off MSRP :)

there's a lot of appearance mods for them, you can make them look mad jdm yo. and there's a fair amount of boltons and suspension parts for them.

I dunno, it came in on trade for a CLS at work. The clutch was slipping hard with any amount of feathering, so who knows how it should have really felt. I'm pretty sure it was just the Toyota optional blower which boosts the output to 200hp

I don't know how Scion can market a big square box on wheels as something "cool"

Well, its a Toyota...thats all the general public seems to need to go on these days...but I'd rather my cars not look like boxes(xB) and walruses(Camry) and mish mashes(FJ)

i have an xB that i daily drive.. it's still stock right now.

as soon as i'm done with my hardwood floors and possibly my new bathroom i plan on doing some 17 or 18" wheels, springs, change the headlights/grill, install my stereo(already have it just need to install), tint, and i'm going to go with the ZPI turbo kit for performance.. it's only $3500 for the kit and its 100% bolt on, safe, and makes the car put down ~185 to the wheels which is rediculous for this car. :eek3:

so that's my plan. i'd like to also take out the dash and all the interior panels and paint them with that vinyl paint made for that stuff just to give it a special touch.. i gotta see about that though..

 For a second there, I thought you were putting a hardwood floor in your xB!

...actually, that might be kinda cool...
