I had no idea we even had a criminal investigation department until today. :hs: I thought all that was taken care of by NCIS. I had completley thrown out the idea of reenlisting until some Marine CID Ssgt showed up today at our FTAP class saying they were looking for lat movers. Tried googling it and found a whole lot of nothing. Any of you guys ever work with them?

All I know of them is that they wear civies all the time.

    Not worth the re-up imo.

if you don't think its worth re uping to get into cid you got issues. You barely ever have to wear the uniform, NO ONE knows your rank, except your office. You won't ever get bitched at again, unless you don't do your job which won't involve much. OSI and CID might be the best jobs in the military. besides the fact that everyone hates cops, and when you go undercover and get found out, on to another post you go.

i don't know about best, but they seem really cool. Something about having no rank, and being called agent ... not to mention you can work for any government intell agency after you get out, FBI, CIA, NSA...

Well the CID guys that I know are pretty cool, they are the older ones, so they never have to go on the undercover drug ring details. They always talk about how there is never anything for them to do. I wouldn't mind doing it.

I guess they're hurting for people pretty bad now, I guess it's cause no ones ever heard of them. I know that you have to do 6 months OJT before you can even goto school, any idea what kind of attrition rate there is in the OJT portion? Seems like it'd have to be pretty high considering how small their field is.

I'm 5811, so we deal with them when the real serious shit goes down.

Pretty good group of Marines, it's hard as hell to pick up Staff from what they say though.

It's a decent place. Our command here at PMO is pretty good. It's hotter than shit here in the summer. Not too cold in the winter. Overall its not that bad of a place. It kinda grows on ya
