i posed something about this a while ago
was thinking about dying my SDAs

Bruised was saying black RIT dye turns out more purpley-black
i guess it's hard to find a nice pure black dye to use

search on styleforum. some guy provided a tutorial for it. my girlfriend and I got bored one night so we took two pairs of old jeans and dyed them. the end result was absolutely not worth it. we used the dye recommended from the thread (some dye from joann's or something) and after all of the washing and whatever the denim looked very matte in a bad way. just looks all grimey and shit and the hue is wack.

when you tried the RIT dye, did you use the color stripper first?
