This summer I'm wanting to make a series of short vlogs for both the local riding AND my travel rides.

If anyone has any experience doing this, do you have any advice. Do you fly off the cuff or do some planning and script writing? Totally new to this but want to give it a try.

Video log? It's pretty time consuming so I say keep it simple.

Well, its not exactly going to be a update every day thing. I figure on about a video a month perhaps. 5 to 10 minutes a peice unless I find that I can fit a lot more into it than that.

Personally I can't stand them, but have fun if you believe you would have viewership.

    Hman,

Go on YouTube/Livevideo and do a search for "Helmet Cam How To", and you can find some good videos on how to setup a helmet cam.

I was thinking of doing a vlog when I get my 2008 Ninja 250R. I want to get an external camera though, I just wouldn't feel comfortable with a camera that will smash my mouth if I fall.

I'm thinking of getting one of these bad boys: http://cgi.ebay.ca/WIRELESS-HELMET-...ryZ48514QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
...but I just have to figure out if there is a easy way to hook up sound so I can make comments when I ride... like "OMG, so I've been on the 250R for a month, and I'm thinking of getting a Hayabusa next month!" ;)

Thanks Swift. I don't know how much on bike cam footage I'll do but there will be some. Mainly I plan to do stuff in regards of places along the ride path and what not. Places to eat, things to see type of vlog. Make sense?

Hell, there might not even be anyone remotely interested but it will give me something to do.

Ahh, so it's not completely bike centric vlog right? Do it up! I'd watch it for sure... well, unless it was just about places to eat, and I'm nowhere near any of those places, then I'd get hungry and shit :noes:

Are you planning to do it on YouTube? You'll probably get the most viewers there. I have mine on LiveVideo, but I'm probably going to get a YouTube account when I start.

Yeah, Youtube is the likely video host. Myspace video works better for quality on my end (perhaps I'm converting to the wrong video format for youtube) but youtube definitely has the higher ratings.

There will be very little overall on board video unless riding somewhere particularly scenic. It will mainly be about places to stop and check out, eat, rest, see, etc while riding. Or just about popular roads in general (in particular around this area).

You should watch a few of the Travel Documentaries to get some good ideas about what to flim and all that

    I would suggest the following

Interview owners of local family owned restaurants
    Local Tourist Attractions
Local Economy (go to hog farm in Iowa, citrus plantation in florida, etc)
