It's the large nerves in your glutes.

I pulled some ligaments/muscle my left one about 6 weeks ago doing low front squats. It still hurts to this day. Taking anti inflamatory meds now. My doc said if it doesn't heal in 2 weeks I might get steroid injections or physical therapy.

You need to see a chiropractor and a massage therapist. I've hurt mine a few times over the years. A quick adjustment, 3-4 massage sessions and you're good to go.

I actually hurt my sciatic nerve a couple of weeks ago. Google it and there are some stretches you can do. Ice down your lower back or use a heat pad. It went away in about 3 weeks. I know what your feeling right now. Some of the worst pain I've ever had.

I have two bulged discs in my lower back that periodically put pressure on my sciatic nerve. I saw a chiropractor for 4 months with no real improvement. The only time I ever see relief when it is hurting is anti-inflammatory meds like you said. Cortisone shots are always a possibility too, if the pain is nonstop.
