I've never hunted but apparently the pesky little bastards are causing trouble in town. The state forest is open and there is no limit.

I have a .22 wmr marlin bolt action. Any suggestions? .223 is illegal .222 or smaller.

Has to be .222 or smaller. I'm thinking cci vmax 30 gr that scoots along at 2200 fps muzzle vel and 1800 at 50 yds.

AK74 would fit the bill. Bullet is .221 in diameter. :bigthumb:

With a few degrees of angle, overshoot will go into dirt.

I know little or nothing about hunting.

But this goes against what I've read. .223 is illegal in alot of states for hunting as they want you to use a bigger round.

Is your state anti gun or something?

Before you call me an idiot reference the first line.

22mag will kill the shit out of a coyote, when I was a kid growing up in Az in the middle of the fucking desert we would shoot them with 22lr and even at 100 meters they would drop like a rock with a properly sprayed blast out of a 10/22, you just had to shoot them a few more times but they would still drop. It's a coyote and fuck those nasty things. I'd shoot them with 17hmr just to make them suffer personally though.
