I usually don't feel bad about taking pictures of people, but I had an ethical block against shooting peoples reactions to the gas chambers at
    Dachau. respond read reflect whatever.

Take the photos. If people ask you not to take photos, then respect their wishes.

    It's what I would do.

So, it's not other people that had the problem with you taking photos, you were just too girlie/emo to get a shot?

pick up your skirt and get to work or take pictures of flowers appear to be your best options.

I just got done shooting a series of photos at nursing homes and in the OR at two hospitals. I had to have everyone sign the release forms and get the OK from upper management before taking any pictures, but from an ethical standpoint it was pretty straightforward.

I didn't show people in embarrassing or humiliating ways and tried to be as respectful as I could.
