TAT anyone ever had their artist refuse a tip?

    Our tattoo guy refuses to take a tip... the first time we went to him I gave him a tip and he wouldn't take it. He told me that he refuses to take tips from clients and that the best tip you could give him was to spread the word about his work :cool: .... so the next time in we brought him an orchid plant for his shop (went along with the orchid tattoo my wife was geting) :o

    i've never hand any of my artist refuse, but i have a friend who gets his tats done and his artist refuses to take tips, cuz the artist owns the shop..but he lets his other artists take tips

    most artists live on the tips :o

    You also go to places that want to do 2 sessions for a 4 hour back piece :o

    i've refused to take tips from some customers. sometimes its just not necessary. i do a jewelry change(5mins max) and someones trying to hand me $10, im gonna say no.

    i did that recently just b/c it was a large gauge peice of jewerly and it took both of us 10min to open the ring to get the ball in place.

    switching out jewelry is a little different than a 4 hour tattoo session :dunno:

    I tip when they taper in ear jewelry for me, I figure if I have the money, I might as well give them a tip. I'm sure they appreciate it
